finally wk 2

I missed these questions on the wk blog sorry:

How does multimedia keep the learner motivated to learn? multi media adds a bit of fun. It is something new and something that the kids are use to seeing.

Is there an “entertainment” factor needed for today’s student? Not so much entertainment as the ability to be given mass information. They are use to being what we would consider an overload of information on a screen. It is a new era of learning that allows our children to focus on many different images at ones while being able to listen to different conversations.

Do you think the student has to always interact with content just to stay focused? No I think a student can sit with the information quietly if given the opportunity. there are some students with medical difficulties that need to be active learners but the majority of students are able to sit with the information.

  1. Multimedia also appeals to a variety of learners like visual, auditory and adding more than one media stream can enhance information transmission.

You're right about the young generations ability to take in and process multiple media streams at once. What is difficult to us is simple or the norm to them. Actually they sometimes process better when they have multiple streams incoming.

Interactions can be an opportunity to demonstrate understanding or gain understanding of content, think of a game where you need to reach goals to change levels..
